EMDR Therapy in Rawalpindi & Islamabad
Quick Answer
EMDR Therapy at InnerView is delivered by Prof. Dr. Nadeem, a trained EMDR practitioner, for PTSD, trauma, anxiety, and phobias — in Rawalpindi and online across Pakistan.
EMDR — Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing — is a specialist therapy recommended by the World Health Organisation for PTSD and trauma. It works differently from traditional talking therapy. Rather than asking you to talk through what happened in detail, EMDR uses guided bilateral stimulation — usually eye movements — while you hold aspects of a difficult memory in mind. Over time, the emotional charge attached to the memory reduces significantly, and you can recall it without the same level of distress.
Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Bajwa holds a formal Diploma in EMDR and has been delivering EMDR as part of integrated psychiatric treatment for many years. InnerView is one of the very few clinics in Rawalpindi and Islamabad where specialist EMDR is available alongside full psychiatric assessment and medication management.

How EMDR Works at InnerView
EMDR follows an eight-phase protocol. The first two sessions focus on history-taking and preparation — building the foundation and teaching stabilisation techniques before any trauma processing begins. You are always in control of the pace. Once processing begins, bilateral stimulation is used while you focus on aspects of the target memory. Most patients are surprised by how quickly the distress level drops.
Sessions run 60 to 90 minutes. For single-incident trauma, many patients see significant improvement in six to twelve sessions. Complex or repeated trauma typically requires longer.
Available in-person in Rawalpindi and via online video across Pakistan.
